The Siege of Jadotville

The Siege of Jadotville is a Netflix original movie based on the true story of a Irish commander and his men who were outnumbered and surrounded by enemy forces in the Congo during the 1960s. The movie stars Jamie Dornan as Commander Patrick Quinlan and Sam Spruell as Major Daar. The movie was directed by Richie Smyth and written by Kevin Lehane.

Beasts of No Nation

The film follows the story of a young boy who is forced to become a soldier in the middle of a bloody civil war. While the violence is certainly graphic, it’s never gratuitous; instead, it serves to highlight the horrors of war and the ways it can destroy innocent lives. The film’s excellent cast includes Idris Elba as the commanding officer and Abraham Attah as the young boy caught in the middle of the conflict.

Angelina Jolie directs this heart-wrenching film based on the 2000 memoir by Loung Ung. Outlaw King is a historical drama that tells the story of Robert the Bruce, who was crowned King of Scotland in 1306. The film follows his fight against the English army, led by Edward I. The movie stars Chris Pine as Robert the Bruce and Aaron Taylor-Johnson as James Douglas.
