BBC releases new Doctor Who images of Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson in 1960s costumes

The BBC has released new pictures of incoming Doctor Who stars Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson.

In the new shots, the pair, who will play the Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday the Doctor’s companion can be seen wearing 1960s clothing.

Gatwa, who is best known for his performance as Eric Effiong in Netflix coming-of-age hit Sex Education, is seen wearing double-breasted blue-and-white pinstripe suit accompanied by a white shirt, tie and he has sideburns.

Gibson, who made her name on Coronation Street, is sporting a classic Swinging Sixties look of white knee-high boots and a black-and-cream dress.

The BBC has also revealed other names for series 14 of Doctor Who which will begin with a festive special in 2023. It has been announced that Ru Paul’s Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon will have a major role in the series while EastEnders legend Anita Dobson will feature in the show as well as Michelle Greenidge.

Season 14 of the show will follow three 60th anniversary specials of the show which will air in November 2023. The shows, which are written by returning showrunner Russell T Davies will star former Tenth Doctor star David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor alongside his companion Donna Noble, played by Catherine Tate. Other names confirmed for the shows include Yasmin Finney as Rose and Neil Patrick Harris.

It is expected that there will be many other guest stars in the shows, with some hoping for the return of former Doctors and companions from the modern era.

The episodes will be the first as part of a new deal between the BBC and Disney to make Disney+ the streaming home of Doctor Who outside the UK, and is expected to see significant budget increases in the show and lead to spin offs in the future.
