Has a new Doctor Who season 14 star been spotted by Doctor Who fans?

And so here we are, filming of Doctor Who season 14 starring Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson is underway – and this means a few things for Doctor Who fans… the new season is getting closer (how exciting) and there are going to be spoilers and leaks beginning to emerge around the show.

As parts of Doctor Who are filmed in public, it’s impossible for some elements of the show to remain completely secret as it’s shot, and therefore from time to time, keen-eyed fans are going to spot things. And today is one of those days…

However, as we understand that some fans can’t get enough of every detail, and others want no spoilers at all – we’d warm the latter fans to turn away now as the intrepid Tweeters appear to have spotted a new face in the cast for season 14.

OK, are you ready… potential spoilers are ahead…

You.

Have.

Been.

Warned…

Right, so the LuVDoctorWho Twitter account seems to have spotted some Doctor Who filming in Cardiff that appears to reveal the participation of The White Queen, Peaky Blinders and 1899 star Aneurin Barnard.

An image of someone who looks a lot like the 34-year-old actor has been spotted on posters on the set of Doctor Who season 14, in what appears to be a political campaign for a man called Roger AP Gwilliam. He appears to be the candidate for a fake political party called Albion, which claims to represent a “Bigger, Better, Bolder Britain.”

The tweets, translated by Google automatically from Portuguese are translated as:

“Millie Gibson is filming Doctor Who season 14, and interesting footage from the set has surfaced today. If you continue this line, you are at your own risk. Images are hidden as sensitive content.”

“Images from today’s set reveal that we have a new cast member, actor Aneurin Barnard, best known for his role in the Netflix series 1899. Apparently he plays a politician looking to be elected, very RTD right?”

“We can see that there is a campaign going on for Roger AP Gwilliam, part of the “Albian”, with the Slogan: “For a bigger, better and bolder Britain.””

A further Tweet from the account says that according to reports the episode takes place in 2046 and that Millie Gibson’s Ruby Sunday character has been spotted in the vicinity of the electioneering.

Of course this is all speculation, and there is no conformation from the BBC or any Doctor Who sources that any of this is happening – although the twitter images are certainly intriguing.

Season 14 of Doctor Who will return from the festive season of 2023 starring Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson and follows the three 60th anniversary specials of the show in November 2023 starring David Tennant.
