The Doctor and Clara face alien pirates in Rebellion on Treasure Island
The Doctor has been to some weird and wonderful places in his time across the universe, and now it’s time to take another step in the incredible adventures of a Time Lord as he enters a Doctor Who and Treasure Island crossover.
Young fans of the BBC science fiction series are to be treated to a new literary adventure starring the Doctor, Clara and River Song in the summer of 2023 as BBC Children’s Books and Penguin announce the release of Bali Rai’s book Doctor Who: Rebellion on Treasure Island.
Expect alien pirates, and sea-faring friends abound in what is described as an “incredible Treasure Island and Doctor Who crossover.”
The official synopsis for the book, which is available for pre-order but isn’t released until the 22nd of June 2023 reads:
“Summoned to 1700s Plymouth, the Doctor and Clara must investigate a mysterious thievery from the Crown of King George.
“Their travels take them to a remote island – but as the secrets of the theft are unearthed, the Doctor discovers something far more sinister. The spectre of a terrible intellect is afoot.
“Thankfully, the Doctor and Clara won’t be alone. A pirate called Long John Silver, a runaway called Janey Hawkins, and professor called River Song, are all along for the ride.”
With the 60th anniversary TV specials in November 2023 and the start of Doctor Who season 14 starring Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson expected around the festive season, next year is already looking like a very exciting one for fans of the show – and this new book looks like yet another thing to look forward to if you enjoy adventures in space and time and on treasure islands!
The 304 page book will be available as a paperback and as an ebook to download to read on e-readers and smart devices.
