Emmy Awards 2022: The winners in full
The Emmys have returned to screens in the first full ceremony since the pandemic and the great and the good of the TV industry were out in numbers to pick up prestigious prizes for their work both behind and in front of the screen in the last year.
The biggest winner of the night was The White Lotus, the frankly brilliant satire from HBO, but other returning winners included Succession and Ted Lasso, shows that are no stranger to taking home a prize or two.
The biggest story of the night was a double win for the hit Netflix show Squid Game which became a worldwide phenomenon in 2021. Lee Jung-jae, the star of the show, became the first ever Asian man to win the best male actor in a drama award, and the creator and director of the show, Hwang Dong-hyuk was also awarded the best director prize.
The awards are voted for by 25,000 members of the US Tv Academy, and shows are eligible if they are first broadcast or streamed between 1st June 2021 and 31st May 2022.
