Ncuti Gatwa shares new behind the scenes Doctor Who season 14 photos and video

It’s been a long time coming, but we now know what Ncuti Gatwa’s costume will look like when he plays the Fifteenth incarnation of the Time Lord in Doctor Who, and we’ve also seen the first look at Millie Gibson’s Ruby Sunday costume too. There are plenty of retro references for fans to dissect before season 14 of the show with the time travelling pair arriving at the end of 2023, but in the meantime, Ncuti Gatwa has shared some more pictures of what’s happening on the set right now.

Taking to Instagram, Gatwa, who is filming the new season in Cardiff right now wrote:

“Yesterday. Was. EXHILARATING!

“I genuinely feel I have an adrenaline hangover. But boy oh BOYY what we have in store for you 😏☺️✨”

He added, in reference to a video that he uploaded as a carousel of content: “P.s that video is just an excuse to show off the fit of my trousers, tell me you wouldn’t do the same! 😂”

The pictures Gatwa shared (above) include the official first-look portrait of him in his Fifteenth Doctor outfit as well as the first photo of him together with Millie Gibson in costume as Ruby Sunday, the companion that will travel with him in season 14.

The photos also include a clapperboard with an animated Ncuti Gatwa printed on it, what appears to be a photo of inside the Bad Wolf studios soundstage where the TARDIS is visible alongside a lot of people and lights, and several pictures of himself backstage.

We know there are eight episodes in season 14 of Doctor Who, and it will be the first full season of the show that will be part of the deal struck between the BBC and Disney which will see Disney+ become the international home of Doctor Who.

Before the season begins, fans can look forward to three 60th anniversary specials of the show that will star David Tennant as the Fourteenth Doctor and the return of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble. These episodes will air on BBC and Disney+ in November 2023 to coincide with the birthday of the show and are expected to contain lots of surprises for fans.
