Karen Gillan returns as Nebula in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 trailer
The first trailer for the eagerly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been dropped by Marvel giving fans the chance to see their first glimpse of many of the popular returning characters to the series including former Doctor Who star Karen Gillan who plays Nebula.
Gillan’s character is seen twice in the trailer, once in what seems to be high spirits dancing and the second time in a fight where it appears she’s not fairing so well. It looks from the trailer like everyone is in for another emotional rollercoaster ride.
The movie, which is chalked for a summer 2023 release, is the last Marvel project from director James Gunn who is off to helm a rival superhero franchise for the DC Universe very soon.
The trailer shows us the return of Chris Pratt as Star Lord, Dave Bautista’s Drax , Bradley Cooper’s Rocket, Vin Diesel’s Groot and Pom Klementieff’s Mantis.
We also get to see our first live-action glimpse at Adam Warlock who is played by Will Poulter as the action appears to revolve around battles with the High Revolutionary.
We also see the return of Gamora, who we thought had been killed during the events of Avengers Infinity War and Endgame – but they’re back in a different form.
The trailer appears to set things up for a grand finale with a soundtrack provided by Spacehog’s In The Meantime, a song from the 90s that appears to show that time has moved on from the predominantly 80s soundtrack of the last volume.
Rocket the racoon is, it appears “done running”… so the movie will surely bring everything to a head.
Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 will be released worldwide in the summer of 2023
