Happy Valley season 3 episode 6 sneak-peek photos – how will the drama end?

And so, that’s it. Happy Valley is about to come to an end.

The third series of Sally Wainwright’s brilliant crime drama starring Sarah Lancashire and James Norton will be the very last, and therefore we have just one more episode to find out exactly how the final showdown between Catherine Cawood and Tommy Le Royce will play out.

There’s not much being given away about the finale, as you might expect, and indeed it’s understood that multiple endings have been filmed for the show to ensure that there are no spoilers or leaks in the press or online ahead of broadcast. However, we do have something to go on as we speculate how Happy Valley may end, a handful of official photos from episode six of the show released by the BBC.

In this first few photos, we can see that Catherine is out in her police car, perhaps ion the hunt for leads around the location of Tommy Lee Royce? We know at the end of episode five she told her sister Clare (Siobhan Finneran) that she wasn’t just going to sit around while he was on the loose, so it looks like she’s taken matters into her own hands.

Or could she be looking for Ryan (Rhys Connagh), who we know has been talking to his Dad Tommy, and is considering running off to Spain with him?

We see Catherine calling at the door of Frances Drummond, who certainly looks like she may have something to hide from this photograph.

Meanwhile, Faisal (Amit Shah) who we know killed Joanne Hepworth (Mollie Winnard) and hid her body in a suitcase has been having flashbacks of the crime he committed. Currently, all the heat is on Rob Hepworth (Mark Stanley), Joanne’s husband, but can Faisal deal with the secret? It looks like the net is closing in on him from this picture as the police are interested in who supplied the prescription medication to Joanne.

We also see Clare, Catherine’s sister looking distressed. She’s feeling guilty for having allowed Ryan to make contact with Tommy Lee Royce again while he was in prison – but has something happened that is making the situation even worse?

It certainly doesn’t look good in these final photographs of Catherine, suggesting something is happening with Ryan. In the first photo, she’s seen looking through a photograph album of pictures of what is presumably a younger Ryan. Has he actually run off with Tommy to Spain, or has something more sinister happened to him?

Well, whatever is happening it certainly seems to result in a lot of soul-searching from Catherine as we see in this final image.

Not long to go until we find out how Happy Valley ends – but until then, let the speculation continue…
