Inside Man is the latest TV drama starring David Tennant, one of the most celebrated actors in Britain.
Best known to science fiction fans for his performance as the Tenth Doctor in Doctor Who, David Tennant has enjoyed a rich and varied acting career on television, in movies and on stage. He was most recently seen on our screens in Around the World in 80 Days, but also won critical acclaim in recent small screen work for his starring roles in Des, Staged, Good Omens and Broadchurch to name but a few.
In this new series, Tennant will reunite with former Doctor Who showrunner, Steven Moffat, who not only helmed the series for many years before Chris Chibnall took over, but also wrote some of the most celebrated episodes of the modern era, including Blink which starred David Tennant and Carey Mulligan.
What is Inside Man about?
This is a dark mystery thriller drama series that is sure to have viewers on the edge of their seats from the very start. The official synopsis of the show says: “Everyone’s a murderer – you just need a good reason and a bad day.” That immediately has us with everyone in the frame for whatever is going on.
The four-part show “follows a prisoner on death row in the US (Stanley Tucci), a Vicar in a quiet English town (David Tennant) and a maths teacher trapped inside a cellar (Dolly Wells) as they cross paths in the most unexpected way.”
Well that leaves plenty of mystery to unfold across the series – we can’t wait!
Asked about the show, David Tennant told the BBC that it was “Very hard to sum up, because there are two separate worlds going side by side.
“Part of the joy of watching the show is wondering if these worlds are ever going to collide. But from my character’s point of view, it’s a story about a man who, in pursuit of doing the right thing, makes a series of catastrophically bad decisions.”
