The Super Mario Bros. Movie trailer arrives starring Chris Pratt and Anya Taylor-Joy
The first full-length trailer for 2023’s highly anticipated Super Mario Bros. movie has arrived offering viewers their first look at Jack Black’s Bowser and Anya Taylor-Joy’s Princess Peach opposite Chris Pratt’s Mario.
Released in the spring of 2013, the movie, which is a joint production between animation giant Illumination and gaming supremos Nintendo, will see Mario return to the big screen in an adventure where as always he will be battling his ultimate foe Bowser alongside some of the most popular characters from the video game franchise.
Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, the pair who worked together on Teen Titans Go! and Teen Titans Go! To the Movie with a screenplay by Matthew Fogel (The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part, Minions: The Rise of Gru), The Mario Bros. Movie stars Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
The action-comedy has certainly got fans excited with the trailer that appears to show the movie will be filled with fun and interesting Nintendo Easter eggs for those who have been playing the games their whole lives as well as an action-packed storyline and cinematic upbeat score that would not be out of place in the best franchise movie.
An early Christmas present it seems for anyone who loves Mario, Luigi and his pals.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is released in cinemas on March 31st 2023 in the UK and April 7th 2023 in the US
