The Power of the Doctor new images will fuel more plot speculation
We’re only a few days away from The Power of the Doctor being broadcast in both the UK and the US, but before Sunday, October 23rd and Jodie Whittaker’s final episode as the Doctor, there’s still plenty of time to speculate about what might happen in the episode.
Well, as if the pictures that have already been released and the trailer haven’t already had fans of the BBC show in hyperdrive when it comes to trying to work out what’s going to happen – a shed load new images released by the BBC tonight will certainly have everyone excited to find out more.
In a wide-ranging series of episodic images from the 90-minute special, which is the last that will be overseen by Chris Chibnall as showrunner ahead of Russell T Davies returning to the helm of the show we see the Doctor battling against many of her oldest foes including the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Master himself.
Several of the images show the Doctor dressed in an orange space suit in what appears to be a spaceship, and as we know from the trailer of the show, it looks like there may be volcanoes involved too.

Elsewhere we see other characters clearly in battle including Deputy Marshall, played by Joe Sims and Vinder played by Jacob Anderson.

There are also lots of shots of the enemies that are clearly trying to end Jodie Whittaker’s time in the TARDIS, well with quite a lot of finality. That includes the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Master, played by Sacha Dhawan, who in one photo looks like he might be in a spot of bother with the police.

But it’s not all baddies, there are other people trying to help the Doctor too – including Dan Lewis played by John Bishop, Yas, played by Mandip Gill plus old friends Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) and companions Ace (Sophie Aldred) and Tegan (Janet Fielding).

The Power of the Doctor is expected to be followed by several anniversary episodes to celebrate the 60th birthday of Doctor Who in 2023. It’s not clear at this stage if Ncuti Gatwa, the incoming Doctor will be part of those episodes, but we do now that David Tennant and Catherine Tate are returning to the show – and it is thought a number of other old Doctor Who stars might be back in action.
The Power of the Doctor will air at 7.30pm in the UK on Sunday 23rd October.
