Reese Witherspoon to star in British-set Cheerleading sitcom
Reese Witherspoon is to star in a brand-new comedy set in a British school where she teaches cheerleading.
Prime Video has ordered two seasons of the new show, All Stars, which will tell the story of a former cheerleader from Daytona Beach (played by Witherspoon) who manages to con her way to England and ends up teaching an unlikely group of students how to cheer in a school on the South Coast of the UK, reports Deadline.
Witherspoon, who made her name as a movie star in films like Cruel Intentions, Legally Blonde, Cruel Intentions and won an Oscar for her performance as June Carter Cash in Walk the Line, has made a number of television projects in recent years.
She was one of the major stars of Apple TV+’s flagship The Morning Show opposite Jennifer Aniston and Steve Carell and won critical acclaim for her performances in Little Fires Everywhere and Big Little Lies (pictured above) on the small screen.
The new show, which is already be compared by some to Ted Lasso, the Apple TV+ comedy that sees an American Football coach come to manage an English football team will be produced by Reese Witherspoon’s own production company Hello Sunshine!
