Doctor Who’s Peter Capaldi in the trailer for The Devil’s Hour
Former Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi will be back on the small screen soon in what looks likely to be an incredibly tense and exciting thriller in the shape of new Prime Video drama, The Devil’s Hour.
Capaldi, who starred as the Twelfth Timelord on BBC’s science fiction hit between 2013 and 2017, stars in the new thriller series opposite Jessica Raine, who many may know as one of the original stars of Call the Midwife, but also has a Doctor Who connection having played Verity Lambert in the BBC’s 2013 Doctor Who origin story An Adventure in Space and Time.
The Devil’s Hour is described as “a gripping psychological thriller where Lucy’s nightmares draw her into a hunt for a serial killer in a world where nothing is as it seems” and sees Peter Capaldi play a character called Gideon and Jessica Raine take on the role of Lucy.

The show also stars Nikesh Patel, who appeared in an episode of Doctor Who under Jodie Whittier’s stewardship of the TARDIS – and as if that’s not enough science fiction action, the TV programme is executive produced by Steven Moffat, the long-time showrunner of Doctor Who – and scribe of some of the best loved episodes of all time including Blink, which, introducing the Weeping Angels is consistently voted a fan favourite.
The dark and gripping trailer certainly builds the tension and shows what looks to be another captivating performance from Peter Capaldi.
The Devil’s Hour is released on Prime Video from Amazon on October 28th 2022. And while you’re there you can check out Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power which is currently streaming on the service. Those who haven’t already can get a free 30-day trial of Prime Video (affiliate link).
