Georgia Tennant shares David Tennant #aegonmytshirt picture
What’s your favourite t-shirt? Does it have a picture of your son in House of the Dragon on it?
No, well it’s time to up your game as the Tennant household is living their best t-shirt lives this year as Georgia Tennant has proven by posting a picture of her husband David Tennant wearing a pretty cool t-shirt.
Accompanied by the simple hashtag #aegonmytshirt, the stylish t-shirt has an animated version of Aegon Targaryen on it, a character from the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon who just happens to be played by Georgia and David’s son, Ty Tennant.
In 2022, Ty starred as Aegon Targaryen II in House of the Dragon opposite former Doctor Who star Matt Smith. He previously made his name in the mainstream acting world as Tom Gresham in War of the Worlds between 2019 and 2022.
Fans were delighted to see Ty appear in House of the Dragon because of the Doctor Who connections.
One Tweeter said at the time: “Wow! Aegon Targaryen is played by Ty Tennant, the song of David Tennant, the 10th Doctor. He’s also the grandson of the 5th Doctor Peter Davison. Aegon’s uncle Daemon is played by Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor.”
David Tennant is of course best known to many science fiction fans for his lead role in Doctor Who as the Tenth Doctor between 2005 and 2010. During this time, he met Georgia Moffet, the daughter of Peter Davison (the Fifth Doctor actor) who played the Doctor’s Daughter, Jenny. The pair would go on to marry.
David Tennant will be returning to Doctor Who in November 2023 as the Fourteenth Doctor for three 60th anniversary specials before Doctor Who season 14 begins with Ncuti Gatwa playing the Fifteenth Doctor opposite Millie Gibson who will portray his companion Ruby Sunday.
