Fans celebrate Doctor Who connections as Ty Tennant appears in House of the Dragon
Ty Tennant made his debut in House of the Dragon in episode six this week, playing an older Aegon Targaryen after a ten-year time jump forward saw a number of the younger members of the show’s acting line-up recast.
And many fans couldn’t resist taking to social media not only celebrate the great performance of the 20-year-old actor, who is the son of former Doctor Who stars David Tennant and Georgia Tennant – but also to talk about the sci-fi connections in the show.
“I know Aegon II is a freaking monster, but I’ve gotta say that I am sooooooo happy to see Ty Tennant on such a big production like this.” wrote Tweeter, ATimlessChild.
“He comes from a family of amazing actors, so I have no doubts that he’s just as talented. I can’t wait to see him on HoTD this Sunday”
And as soon as the episode aired, Riccy of Karn said:
“Ty Tennant – son of David Tenant and grandson of Peter Davison – now has Matt Smith playing his uncle in House of the Dragon. (And gosh – what a debut…!)”
The Doctor Who facts kept coming from YourLittldodtwo:
“Wow! Aegon Targaryen is played by Ty Tennant, the song of David Tennant, the 10th Doctor. He’s also the grandson of the 5th Doctor Peter Davison. Aegon’s uncle Daemon is played by Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor.”
And CallidusDominus found it all a bit too much to process:
